Completed my professional branding in December 2023.
Problems to Solve:
Telling My Story
Type of Work I Want
Building Trust
How I helped solved them:
Telling My Story - I wanted my branding to communicate that I love to be clever, fun, organic, and bold all within an illustrative container of design work. Clever I represented with my logo mark combining a fountain pen and skull. Fun was represented in the color palette and typography. Red and yellow can either work together or duke it out, so I’m happy to have found 2 shades that complemented each other in combination with the dark grey. Organic was represented by the flowing nature of graphic elements and the logo itself, with my name looking as if it was written by a fountain pen. Bold wasrepresented by the past 3 attributes since I believe they are what make this branding even remotely close to bold.
Type of Work I Want - How I planned and designed my branding is ideally how I would love to work with a client. What matters to you? Who are you to yourself and who do you want to be to others? What gets you fired up? What do you like to see but don’t see enough of? My branding is also a huge representation visually of the type of work I would love to do for others. When I first became interested in graphic design, I saw work that I was jealous of. I thought, “Wow, I wish I had made that. I want to make designs like that someday.” My biggest hope that is through my design work and branding, that it can spark in others that sort of drive to make and/or work with designers. That being illustrative design.
Building Trust - By creating a brand that is tight, professional, and clearly communicates who I am, clients will have the chance to feel supported if they work with me. My goal was to showcase the questions, iterations, thought process, and creativity that goes into my work flow. I feel that my branding is consistent, alive, genuine, and detailed enough to give a clear picture on what type effort and branding you will receive from me.
